The 7mm Backcountry cartridge from Nosler delivers performance matching or exceeding the 7mm Rem Mag from a 20-inch barrel due to its optimized case design — a shorter body with no belt, designed specifically for efficient combustion in compact barrel lengths. In the Tundra’s 20-inch profile, the 7mm Backcountry produces velocities suitable for ethical harvest of elk and comparable game at distances to 800 yards with appropriate high-BC projectiles. The 1:8 twist stabilizes the heaviest available 7mm bullets.
